A
Guide to Simulated Daylight
As a distributor of low energy compact fluorescent
daylight bulbs, I am often asked questions, some I could answer myself
but others I had to refer to the manufacturer or other sources. I
accumulated quite a large file of information which gave me the idea of
preparing a Frequently Asked Questions page, for my website, ebay and as
a hard copy to send out with orders.
The idea was to make it one A4 page but the more I
read through the file, the more I added and ended up with this 24 page
booklet.
It is not intended to be a technical manual, more a
general overview of lighting and a layman’s guide to the benefits and
uses of simulated daylight rated bulbs.
For example, I have tried to explain, in simple
terms: the difference between watts and lumens; the relevance of colour
temperature and colour rendering; the meaning of Kelvins and
full-spectrum.
There is also a section on digital photography based mainly on my own
experience of preparing pictures for various websites and ebay. Again,
this is really a basic guide for the beginner or casual photographer.
